Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and what we do with it. J.R Detailing (Jaskomal Rai, Derby, Derbyshire) is the data controller.
What we collect
- When you enquire: your name, phone number, vehicle make and model, the service you're interested in, when you'd like it done and (for correction work) the paint condition you select.
- When you book: the above plus payment details for the deposit and balance (handled by your bank or card provider — we don't store card numbers).
- Photos of your vehicle taken before, during and after work.
- Messages you send us by text, WhatsApp, email or social media.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote.
- To carry out and keep records of the work you book.
- To contact you about your appointment, aftercare or a follow-up service such as the Maintenance Plan.
- Photos may be used for marketing on our website and social media unless you tell us not to before work starts (see our Terms).
The legal basis is performing a contract with you (or steps before one), and our legitimate interest in running and promoting the business.
Who we share it with
- FormSubmit delivers enquiry-form messages to our inbox. Your details pass through their service in transit.
- WhatsApp and your mobile network handle messages you send to our number.
- Google provides the embedded map on this site; loading it may set Google cookies under Google's own privacy policy.
- We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. The only third-party content is the Google Maps embed described above.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to a booking are kept for up to 12 months. Booking and invoice records are kept for six years for tax purposes. Vehicle photos are kept while they're useful for records or marketing, and removed on request.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to marketing use, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled it.
